๐จ๐ฟ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ป crime can be organized. There can be drug houses and all sorts of problems from people with addictions.
Yet the worst place to live for crime isnโt even close.
๐ฆ๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ across Alberta often have double the crime per resident of big cities and ๐ด ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฆ or more the crime rate as residents in rural areas. ๐ฒ๐ฒ

Here are 5 Towns across Alberta. Note the pink bar shows crimes per 1,000 residents got as high as 8.
Here are the crime rates for Cities across all regions in the same province. Crime rates were mostly under 3 crimes per 1,000 residents or 63% LOWER.
Here is a chart showing the trend over the first four 4 months in 2022. The small town of Valleyview Alberta saw its January crime rate spike to over 10 property crimes per 1,000 residents.
Ahh rural crime rates seem peaceful compared to small towns. Here the crime rate is often under 2 crimes per 1,000 residents or 75% lower than it can be in the worse small towns.
Rural crime is still a concern!
When
a crime ecosystem gets in place several towns in the same region can be
affected at once. Eastern Alberta is helping keep organized crime in
business with these high crime rates.
Drugs are flowing and taxpayers
are footing the bill from the crime that follows via insurance claims and out of pocket losses in Eastern Alberta right now.
